What we collect
- Identity and contact: name, email, phone (if provided), delivery address for guide orders.
- Enquiry content: messages you send via our contact form and consent records.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, and pages viewed.
- Cookie preferences: choices stored in your browser localStorage when you use our consent banner.
- Payment-related data: processed by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers on our servers.
Why we collect information (APP 3)
We collect personal information that is reasonably necessary for:
- responding to enquiries and fulfilling orders for printed or digital guides;
- providing customer support and processing returns under the Australian Consumer Law;
- operating, securing, and improving our website;
- sending marketing communications only where you have opted in (see Spam Act 2003 below);
- meeting legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
Direct marketing and Spam Act 2003
We will not send commercial electronic messages without your consent. Every marketing email includes a functional unsubscribe facility. You may opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe link or emailing us.
Disclosure to overseas recipients (APP 8)
Some service providers (hosting, email, analytics if enabled) may store data outside Australia. Before disclosure, we take reasonable steps to ensure overseas recipients handle information in line with the APPs, including contractual safeguards where appropriate.
Storage and security (APP 11)
We use TLS encryption, access controls, and staff training. We retain enquiry records for up to 24 months, order and tax records for seven years, and server logs for up to 90 days unless a longer period is required by law.
Notifiable Data Breaches
If a data breach is likely to result in serious harm, we will assess the incident and, where required, notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) in line with the NDB scheme.
Your rights (APP 12 and 13)
You may request access to or correction of personal information we hold about you. Contact us using the details above. We will respond within a reasonable period (generally 30 days). If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the OAIC at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
Children
Our services are not directed to children under 15. We do not knowingly collect information from children without parental consent.
